E-Learning Game Example – Science Match
Articulate’s E-Learning Challenge #217 is to share E-Learning Game Templates and Examples.
Science Match is a game I created using Koji, a new, free platform that makes creating Web Applications fast & easy for non-programmers, students, teachers, etc. You can try out the game by clicking on the game embedded below, or by using this link for the larger, desktop version: https://science-match.withkoji.com/
For my first game, I decided to use Koji’s Gem Match template, a Candy Crush-like game that I customized by changing the colors, fonts, icons, and sounds. I found the software very easy to use, and created the game in just a few minutes!
The goal in Science Match is to clear as many rows and columns as possible in as few moves as possible. You can clear icons from the board by lining up three (or more) identical icons in a row, which is accomplished by swapping icons in order to create three of a kind. It’s not a game that will develop skills, but my purpose in developing the game was to try out the software and see how easy it was to use, and if it could be embedded in an eLearning application. I discovered the game could be embedded in Storyline 360 as a Web Object, and it functions as expected, including the Leaderboard.
